Solid cherry, edge grain up, in long straight strips that run the full length of the board like rafters under a roof. It starts out a warm reddish brown and deepens to a rich amber over its first months in your kitchen. A soft roundover edge and finger grooves centered on both ends keep it fully reversible.

The Build
Cherry strips are milled flat, glued side by side with the edge grain facing up, and flattened into one solid slab. Sanded through six grits, 80, 120, 150, 180, 240, and a final pass at 320, and water popped between every one so it stays smooth after its first wash. Soaked overnight in mineral oil and finished with board butter.
