FAQ
How long does a custom order take?
About two weeks. Pieces already finished, including anything in the Character Grade collection, ship right away instead of waiting on the build queue.
What woods do you work with?
Black Walnut, cherry, and Maple across the core lineup, plus Purpleheart, Canarywood, Padauk, and Sapele in Workshop Series pieces like the Ombre Board. Walnut is the flagship and priced accordingly; Cherry and Maple run a bit less.
How do I care for my board?
Hand wash, dry immediately, and oil every few weeks. Never put it in the dishwasher. Full instructions are on the Board Care page.
Do you ship, and what does it cost?
Yes, nationwide. Most single-board orders run about $25 to $35 to ship, more for the larger Gathering and Heirloom boards, though most orders qualify for free shipping over $200.
What's your return or damage policy?
A 14-day return window on stock boards, final sale on custom orders, engraving, and Character Grade, and every board is backed by a craftsmanship warranty against cracking or coming apart under normal use. Full policy on the Shipping & Returns page.
Can I get a board engraved or personalized?
Yes, name, date, or short text for $40 to $50, done in-house. More involved logo or artwork engraving is quoted separately. See the Custom Orders page to get started.
Will my board warp or crack over time?
Some minor cupping or checking is normal for solid wood and isn't a defect, it's addressed on the Board Care page. If a board ever cracks, splits, or comes apart at a glue joint under normal use, that's covered by the craftsmanship warranty and gets repaired or replaced.
What's the difference between the Workshop Series and Character Grade?
Workshop Series pieces are intentional designs, full price, built exactly as planned, like the Ombre Board. Character Grade boards have a small blemish or character mark that kept them out of a standard listing, priced accordingly. Neither one is a defect, they're just two different reasons a board doesn't fit the regular catalog.
